TIRED OF STORING DIGITAL PHOTOS ON YOUR COMPUTER?
Galleria's Newest Concept Store Gets Your Photos Out of the ‘Digital Shoebox’
May 17, 2005/Minneapolis, MN – Galleria is pleased to announce the opening of CAMEO Style, a first-of-its kind photo design and stationery store located near Len Druskin, J.W. Tumbles and Barnes and Noble on the Center’s lower level.
Avid photographers and store co-founders Gary Orenstein and Mark Risher got the idea for CAMEO Style when their own digital pictures continued piling up on their computers. The two dedicated their technology backgrounds and business school know-how to create an easy, effortless way for people to transfer their digital photos into glorious, multi-sized colorful photo books, albums, frames and accessories.
The Three-Step Process. Moving digital pictures to a hands-on album is deceptively simple at CAMEO Style. First, customers enter the welcoming store with their digital pictures on a CD-ROM, a memory card, a USB key – or even still in their camera – and decide how they want their pictures displayed. They can choose from a soft cover ‘easy-to-show-off’ 7” x 7” photo book or an elegant hardcover 11” x 14” photo album – perfect for coffee tables and ideal for gifts. The albums come in a variety of sizes and colors.
For the second step, customers make their way to the store’s Creative Kiosks. With the help of CAMEO Style’s easy-to-use photo software program, they select from their images and put them in the order that they’d like. Once completed, customers finish by clicking ‘print.’
The final step is to head to CAMEO Style’s Creative Bar where an associate will bind the photobook or album. The Creative Bar is also the place to embellish and personalize an album and add finishing touches with colorful markers, designer stamps or ribbons.
More, Please. Looking for even more ways to show off photos? CAMEO Style also has wall calendars where customers can insert 12 pictures for 12 months or show off a picture a week in a notebook style calendar. Photo cards, frames, paperweights and personal journals are also available for inserting favorite photos. Examples of all the choices, colors and albums covers are throughout the store, making it simple to see what final results will look like. Depending on the size of the project, CAMEO Style prints most albums and other products within an hour.
What About My Shoebox? Recognizing that many people still have shoeboxes full of ‘old-fashioned’ photographs, CAMEO Style has a line of unique and clever photo albums and photo boxes. They also have album accessories such as photo corners and pens.
The store also offers personality-driven accessories including a line of notepads (one has an olive-hued ‘pro and con’ notepad for those who truly think out their decisions), luxurious fountain and rollerball pens, magazine and storage containers as well as photo tray tables to show off prized photos.
Though both Orenstein and Risher are East Coast natives with degrees from Harvard University, Dartmouth College and the Wharton School of Business, they specifically wanted their first store to open in Minnesota.
“The Twin Cities is a creative community, and we’re pleased to open our first store in Galleria. I think people here will have fun with everything CAMEO Style has to offer,” said Orenstein.
CAMEO Style also presents seminars on travel photography, photo composition and organizing family photos. A complete listing of events and products can be found on www.cameostyle.com.
